Are Competitions for Me?

Are you competitive and disciplined? Do you welcome challenges? Are you looking for a new adventure? Something that will make you feel beautiful, confident, and proud? A Bodybuilding Competition may be for you!

When I first heard of Bodybuilding I thought, “oh no, those girls are way too muscular, that could never be me!” I specifically told my trainer that I didn’t want to train upper body at all. Over time, I got used to the idea of creating a more balanced shape, and my upper body days became my favorite. As I approached my first competition my confidence grew my body was changing in ways that I didn’t know were possible.

I hear a lot of people say that they’ve been thinking of doing a show, but they are nervous and slightly intimidated. I was too, terrified actually, but once I got started that fear turned into excitement.

If you’ve been thinking of trying a show I recommend a few things:

  • Do your research! Follow bikini competitiors on Instagram, go to the NPC official website (Link Here) , watch YouTube videos of shows at every level (NPC, National, Pro, Olympia), exploration helped me build my confidence.

  • Speak to/have a consultations with a contest prep and posing coaches (Request Here) -pick their brain on all things competition.

  • Don’t be afraid to take a risk! You’re going to have good and bad days, but in the end- this experience will teach you so much about yourself.

XoXo.
